incessant ramblings

I'm a little stressed, mostly due to some poor money managing skills I admit. I didn't realize that some of the expenses charged to my debit card hadn't been taken out yet, today being 2wks after returning from Honduras. Everything else was withdrawn within a week after getting back from Roatan (which was AMAZING!) however 3 charges were not withdrawn until Thursday and because of them and my automatic monthly credit card payment, my account was overdrawn. To top things off Bank of America hits you with a nice $35 dollar fee each time your account is overdrawn or a withdrawl/charge is made with a negative account balance. That being said, on top of my negative balance I have 3 fantastic $35 charges!

Lesson learned. :(

Greetings all! So it is officially 2 weeks until I leave for the island of Roatan, Honduras with my travel partner in crime BuBZ. This time around we'll be rendezvousing in Atlanta and travelling together to Honduras instead of meeting up in the country like we did in Belize. I'm looking forward to laying on a beautiful beach with crystal clear water and working on my tan! Ahhhh the life! If I could just find a man who is well off enough that we could mostly just travel I'd be ecstatic lol

Nothing else really to report other than my company holiday party coming up right after I get back from vacation. The ER holiday party is usually awesome, funny to see a different side of the docs! Also, my best friend Danny's photography business, My Three Roses, is expanding and she has hopes for me to be her 2nd shooter. This would be AWESOME extra cash in my pocket and would also make it easier for me to feed my travel hunger :p

Well that's it for now...until I have something else semi important to say

Hello all! It seems I've lost the blogging bug since my TechTV/Textamerica days when I  had my typepad account. Nothing against vox or anything but maybe I just don't have the time to keep up on a daily blog. For now, atleast twice a month is a do-able goal perhaps. So here's a little update on the world of Ashley.

My bestest buddy at work, Danny, has tragically left me all alone to fend for myself in the world of a hospital ER. To put it in the most humble way possible, I kick ass at work. I'm the model employee....and by model employee I mean I actually get off my ass and do work, and smile while doing it. I guess that's why I'm a MM (Memorial Mentor) and a PSC (Patient Satisfaction Champion). For these reasons, I'm disliked by my coworkers...not the doctors, nurses, or techs, but the people that do the actual job I do. Bitches. This is why I NEVER worked with women in the past, here I have no choice. Catty, negative, self-absorbed...ugh, the list could go on forever.

I'm greatly looking forward to the month of November, I must say. For one, I'm going to a costume party on November 1 (thrown by one of coworkers) and my vacation time starts on November 19 and I return December 3...hopefully not until December 7 if I can pull some strings.

Vacation this year? Honduras...actually the Island of Roatan, Honduras, once again with partner in crime Meghan aka BuBZ. What's good about this vacation is we'll be meeting up in Atlanta before jumping over to Roatan, that way we arrive together...as opposed to last year, waiting around in the Belizean...uhm airport? if you can call it that....

Hello my friends!!! In the off chance that someone still reads this, you are far better than I. However, to my defense I AM without a computer so as I write this I am indeed at work....and since I work in the ER of a hospital there are few times where I can actually sit down for a minute and just think, let alone type a blog, but here is my attempt.

I must admit that not having a computer is both wonderfully beautiful and horribly disappointing at the same time. Although, I love that post-Belize I've become less attached to material belongings and less reliant on technology, I regret that I still NEED a computer. To be entirely honest I'm surprised I've lasted this long without one but alas, this too shall pass. My responsibilities at the hospital are growing and I am going to have to cave and buy one. GRRR!

Oh, so yeah, I finally left the country for the first time and went to Belize/Guatemala with Meghan aka BuBZ in October it was incredible!! It was an amazing and humbling experience at the same time, but I will save you the negative aspects of the trip. So we climbed ancient Mayan ruins, ate delicious food, got drunk as a skunk off Belizean rum, spelunked through a few caves, zip lined, rappelled and that was just the beginning!!! It was the first time BuBZ and I met face to face although we conversed online/through email/on the phone for years. The trip was a blast and I couldn't think of a better person to go with! Soon we shall take other trips so watch out world, BuBZ  and AHolmes are taking over!!!

In other Ashley news: I am single once again, kicked that smothering sufficating crazy guy ***Kevin to the curb, then found a new boyfriend lets call ***Frank who turned out to have a wife and children in another country. Which brings us to ***Connor whom I was totally falling for (and that's saying a lot considering I haven't fallen in love with anyone since Dan) and then totally plays me for a fool on Valentine's Day of all days! Ugh, really, where have all the nice ones gone? Even the ones that SEEM nice (the aformentioned triad) turn out to be complete jerkfaces. I forsee that I am doomed to live the life of a tragic spinster who ends up with 8 cats.

Lets see, what else can I leave you all with before the next time I'll actually be able to write....Oh! My lil sis is pregnant, she's due St Patty's day and she also just celebrated her birthday 2/17 :) Also, my coworker Laura is dragging me to an open casting for CBS'  Big Brother 10, so who knows I might be on tv, although the thought of everyone watch the 24/7 live feeds kinda gives me the skeevies.

 ***Names have been changed

I've heard many stories about the wait times to receive your passport, including a main page story on the Yahoo! homepage. I went through the hassle of finding a third party expediting service that was legit that guaranteed getting your passport to you on time, only to go to a post office and have them tell me their expediting service will get it to me in plenty of time as well....plus it was cheaper. So, I did what every young, broke, and fabulous girl would do, I went the good ol' USPS way and let me tell you, GREAT choice. I got my passport and birth certificate in exactly 1 week! 1 WEEK!!!!! SO AWESOME! One step closer to chillin in Belize with my buddy BuBZ, which may I add, I cannot wait for!

On another completely different topic, I finally went to the movies after not going for like 6 months! Actually, I ended up going twice on Sunday. I went and saw Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (could have been WAY better) went to Heather's 5yr old son's birthday party, left and saw The Simpsons Movie (funnier than I thought it would be) went back to Heather's, met a guy who was a friend of a mutual friend of mine and Heather's and ended up with a dinner date...pretty eventfull Sunday huh? Only downside is, I've been sick since 430am Friday morning, and yes, I know the time I started getting sick b/c I work the night shift and I could actually FEEL my sore throat start. I was feeling icky and looking icky and yet I still bagged me a cutie, go figure :p

One more thing I wanted to add before I leave work for the day, has anyone seen the YouTube Democratic Debate? If not, I recommend giving it a watch...It's been replaying a few times during the week on CNN. I think now more than ever we need to start educating ourselves on who will potentially be leading our country, we've already seen how our ignorane has been rewarded. I can't wait until the Republican one...hahaha

Ok, so I've been bad, I don't have a computer and certain sites are restricted on my work PC but not vox! Carlos was yanking my chain about being a slacker so here we go. My life consists of 3 things, work, eat, and sleep...however I don't get much of the latter. I work in the Emergency Department at a hospital in NJ. No, it's not like "ER", it's way more like "Scrubs"...with a dash of "Grey's Anatomy".  My boss just recently asked me to become a Peer Coach for the ER which I will start class on Wednesday for training. The only other news I have to report is the Ernie to my Bert, the Robin to my Batman, the one, the only BuBZ will be accompanying me on vacation in mid-October to Belize. So that should be quite interesting..."The Adventures of BuBZ and AHolmes: International Like".

But I'm always the target of some jerk. Too many times to list here, but here's the most recent.

Flickr friends, I'm sure you've seen comments made by "jtbradyl" on my pics  (I haven't seen him comment on anyone else's but could be wrong). He's always been ok until recently. On one photo, he comments "nice teeth" on another all he wrote was "chubby". WTF?!

Yes I know my front teeth are crooked, but SORRY for not having health/dental insurance since age 11 and not being able to fix them douchebag.

And so fucking what if I'm chubby, I like the way I am, does my chubbyness OFFEND you jtbradyl? Forgive me for not being like every other anorexic toothepick waif. And for your info, I'm a vegan so I eat very healthy, so sue me for being cursed with some bad genetics.

What gets me about this fool is, I'm sure he has room to talk. He has not one single picture of himself on his flickr OR  myspace.

Thank goodness for miss ali for sending a text to my phone about the "chubby" comment, i had let the teeth one slide, but this one just pushed it too far. I blocked him on Flickr preventing him from commenting or sending me messages. Which brings us to just a little while ago...

I get a message on myspace from someone named "john" that I didn't know.This was the message...

So if there's one thing I have to thank Scott (aka debaser) for, it is my extreme addiction to Deal or No Deal. I "won" $1,000,000 the first time I played on NBC's website. Play online it is sooooo addicting! When I was searching yahoo for a Deal or No Deal game (just for the heck of it) I could not believe that there is actually a DVD game! I almost died and went to heaven LOL And so the question of the year is, Deal....or No Deal... HAHAHA ;p

Probably the BEST game ever
